Steve Jobs 1955-2011

When tragedy strikes, it seems that all I know how to do is write about my feelings, in this case we are talking about not only one of my personal heroes, but also a man who literally shaped the direction of technology indefinitely.

What I admire about Mr. Jobs is that he was quite possibly one of the most powerful people in tech – but he was remarkably down to earth in his demeanor. Granted, when it came to business he was unwavering in his pursuit of perfection, but the products that he produced were nothing short of incredible.

This is a man who literally invented the PC – but saw his company pushed to the brink of collapse yet was able to orchestrate one of the most supernatural turnarounds in history.

I take solace in the fact that Mr. Jobs was a Zen Buddhist – and based on the magic he was able to create in the world – I am compelled to say that his accomplishments are as close to Nirvana as I can imagine possible on this earthly plain.

I will end with a quote from the Buddah…

Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely.
Buddha

Rest in Peace.
